PCST at Walker's Ridge: Tuesday, 6/25

Hi PCST families!

Can you believe it's the last week of summer swim!? Here's the info for Tuesday's meet - it's Hawaiann night so wear your festive gear!

  • Address – 3595 West Hampton Drive Marietta, GA 30064.
  • When should I arrive? – Plan to arrive about 4:45 PM.
  • Where do I park? – All parking is on the street! They recommend carpooling and ask you to please follow these rules:
    • Park on one side of the street only
    • Obey the parking signs posted
    • No parking on any grass; curbs are low
    • No parking in front of a driveway or blocking a driveway in any way
    • Park 30 feet away from a fire hydrant
    • Park 15 feet from a stop sign
    • Avoid parking on corners/curves
    • If you arrive before 4:30 and take a spot in the parking lot that is reserved, you will be asked to move your car
    • When in doubt, don’t park there
  • Where do I go when I get there?
    • PCST will be on the left side of pool deck
    • Tents may be set up outside the pool deck on green space and playground. Not on the pool deck or pine straw on the side of the pool near the grills.
    • Bring your own chairs
    • We will have a clear walkway marked around the pool deck. Set up outside this walkway
    • Tennis courts are OFF LIMITS during swim meets
  • Volunteers – Check in with Kathy Ware at the check-in table when you arrive - even 2nd half-only volunteers.
    • Can't remember what you signed up for? Click here. We have volunteer spots available so bring your neighbor, Grandma or high schooler we'll put them to work!
    • Every family must contribute at least 4 meet halves to make the meet run (but more is sometimes necessary!), so please pitch in!
  • Hungry? – WH will have hotdogs, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, chips, sodas, water, sports drinks, candy, and a special Hawaiian treat! Venmo & cash accepted.
  • What events will my swimmer be competing in? – Line-ups will be in the SwimTopia app & emailed as a PDF on Tuesday morning. There will be diving blocks at this pool so warn your little ones that we'll be experiencing something different than the past two weeks! Coaches will have them practice during warmups to get comfortable diving from the blocks. Kids starting in the shallow end will do sit starts.
  • What should I bring to the meet? - Lots of water, sunscreen & a hat - it's going to be warm! You should also bring towels, snacks, a Sharpie marker, bug repellant, and money for the concessions. We also suggest bringing items to keep your child entertained while waiting for their events. Items such as card games, books, and small activities are highly recommended.
  • Why do I need Sharpies? – If you're new to summer swim, get ready for some Sharpie art! It is VERY important that your swimmer has their NAME written on their back and their events written on their arm or leg. Click for instructions! If you're stumped, find an older swimmer or coach to help you out. (Tip: sunscreen makes the marker smear so apply WAY before you sharpie your little ones!)
  • When does the meet start? – The first event is at 6:00 PM.
  • How long will the meet last? – Probably around 4+ hours. This team is bigger than ours and the last week's team.
  • Are we having practice on the morning of & after the swim meet? – Yes, we will have the morning practice on Tuesday morning at our normal time. It will be lighter than normal.
  • Wacky Wednesday will be replaced with our end-of-year celebration - BYO breakfast, we'll provide awards & cupcakes then have some pool time. 9-11 am!

Swimmers have worked so hard this season. Let's drop time and get some PRs this week. Go Piranhas!
