PCST at Walker’s Ridge, 6/4

Hi PCST families!

Practice is ON for tomorrow, Tuesday, 6/4. It is VERY important for athletes to be in attendance!

Here's the info for tomorrow's meet...

  • Address – 2111 Breconridge Dr S W, Marietta, GA.
  • When should I arrive? – Plan to arrive about 4:45 PM.
  • Where do I park? – Parking is only allowed on 1 side of the street. Please obey the signs and follow the flow of parked cars throughout the rest of the street. NO parking within 50 ft of a stop sign and no parking directly behind a driveway entrance. The cup de sac is off limits for parking so that emergency vehicles can turn around. The parking lot is reserved for coaches, lifeguards, judges, handicap, and coordinators. Please do not park on anyone’s grass or block anyone’s driveway.
  • Where do I go when I get there? – PCST will be on the left side of pool as you enter pool area. Please be sure to bring your own chairs as we have a limited number available for set up at our pool. There is no covering on this section of the pool so feel free to bring tents to help shade you and your family. Please ensure your swimmers and other children do not attempt to get into the deep end or baby pool before, during, or after the meet.
  • Volunteers – Check in with Kathy Ware at the check-in table when you arrive - even 2nd half only volunteers.
    • Can't remember what you signed up for? Click here. We have volunteer spots available so bring your neighbor, Grandma or high schooler we'll put them to work!
    • Every family must contribute at least 4 meet halves to make the team work, so please pitch in!
  • Hungry? – there will be some great swim meet food available. Concessions are CASH ($20 bills or less) and SQUARE (with a 2% transaction fee).
  • What events will my swimmer be competing in? – Line-ups are live in your SwimTopia app. We will send out heat sheets tomorrow closer to meet time. There will be diving blocks at this pool so warn your little ones that we'll be experiencing something new! Coaches will have them practice during warmups to get comfortable diving from the blocks.
  • What should I bring to the meet? - Lots of water, sunscreen & a hat - it's going to be warm! You should also bring towels, snacks, a sharpie marker, bug repellant, and money for the concessions. We also suggest bringing items to keep your child entertained while waiting for their events. Items such as card games, books, and small activities are highly recommended.
  • Why do I need Sharpies? – If you're new to summer swim, get ready for some sharpie art! It is VERY important that your swimmer has their NAME written on their back and their events written on their arm or leg. Click for instructions! If you're stumped, find an older swimmer or coach to help you out. (Tip: sunscreen makes the marker smear so apply WAY before you sharpie your little ones!)
  • When does the meet start? – The first event is at 6:00 PM.
  • How long will the meet last? – Probably around 4+ hours.
  • Are we having practice on the morning of & after the swim meet? – Yes, we will have the morning practice on Tuesday morning at our normal time. It will be lighter than normal. Wacky Wednesday takes place at 10 am for all swimmers with fun & snacks.
  • Coach John Huff is out of town so Mrs. Amy Huff will be the go-to coordinator for the meet. Jackie can also be reached via Remind if you need something but won’t be on deck until mid-way thru the meet.
