PCST at Brookstone 2, 6/29
June 27th
Last meet of the year and it's looking like a scorcher! Pack your sunscreen, lots of Gatorade & get ready! Here's the preliminary info for Thursday's AWAY meet...coaches are doing lineups so make sure to sign out ASAP.
- BK2 is closing out the swim season with a Hawaiian theme. Please feel free to join in on the fun. Wear your leis, Hawaiian shirts and all things Hawaiin on Thursday.
- Address – 5691 Fairwood Drive, Acworth, GA 30101. This is about a 25-minute drive from PCST without traffic & more than that during traffic so plan to give yourself plenty of time to commute!
- When should I arrive? – Plan to arrive by 5 PM. Warm-ups start for our team at 5:30 pm.
- Where do I park? – Please park along the sidewalk side ONLY of the street. We have several "no parking" signs around our clubhouse and in areas with intersections. PLEASE DO NOT PARK IN THESE AREAS. Cars cannot block fire hydrants or street signs. The neighborhood is super strict on parking rules/regulations and has no problem coming to the pool deck and complaining about parking issues they see.
- Where do I go when I get there? – They encourage families to sit in the shaded areas off the pool deck. We will have a viewing area for events at the end of the pool if you want to set up tents outside the gates to stay cool. Bring chairs as there is limited seating. We will have a table for volunteer check-in.
- Volunteers – Check in with Kathy Ware at the check-in table.
- We still need a 2nd half-place judge & some deck assistants!
- Can't remember what you signed up for? Click here. We have volunteer spots available so bring your neighbor, Grandma or high schooler we'll put them to work!
- Every family must contribute at least 4 meet halves to make the team work, so please pitch in!
- What if I'm hungry? - They will have concessions of grilled burgers, pizza, chips, baked potatoes, treats, sodas, water, etc. Cash or Cards are welcome!
- What events will my swimmer be competing in? – Line-ups will be published on Wednesday. Stay tuned & keep checking your SwimTopia app. We will also email them out once things are confirmed.
- What should I bring to the meet? - Lots of water and sunscreen! You should also bring towels, snacks, a sharpie marker, bug repellant, and money for the concessions. We also suggest bringing items to keep your child entertained while waiting for their events. Items such as card games, books, and small activities are highly recommended.
- When does the meet start? – The first event is at 6:00 PM.
- How long will the meet last? – Probably around 4+ hours. Yes, you read that right. We've been spoiled with short meets so far this season, get ready for a later night.
- Are we having practice on the morning of the swim meet? – Yes, we will have the morning practice on Thursday morning at our normal time. It will be lighter than normal.
- Fun Friday practice this week is an ice cream party & Krispy Kreme delivery! Sign up to help!
