PCST at Lees Crossing, 6/22
June 19th
Good afternoon families!
Here's the preliminary info for Thursday's AWAY meet...coaches are doing lineups so make sure to sign out ASAP.
- Address – 1170 Chestnut Hill Cir. Marietta, 30064. This is about a half-hour drive from PCST without traffic & more than that during traffic so plan to give yourself plenty of time to commute!
- When should I arrive? – Plan to arrive by 4:45 PM. Warm-ups start for our team at 5:30 pm.
- Where do I park? – Park on the right side of the road as you are headed down Chestnut Hill Circle. Please park with the flow of traffic, on one side of the road, and not near stop signs. We need to ensure we don't have cars blocking so that emergency vehicles can get through if needed. We've been informed that there is also a tennis match same time/same place, so it's sure to be a zoo. Feel free to drop off your stuff/kids and then go park if it makes things easier. There are a *few* accessible spots available in the pool lot if needed.
- Where do I go when I get there? – PCST will set up on the left side closest to the concession stand. Please bring chairs as there is limited seating. There is also a table right at the gate for volunteer check-in.
- Volunteers – Check in with Kathy Ware at the check-in table.
- Can't remember what you signed up for? Click here. We have volunteer spots available so bring your neighbor, Grandma or high schooler we'll put them to work!
- Every family must contribute at least 4 meet halves to make the team work, so please pitch in!
- What if I'm hungry? - They will have concessions serving burgers, hot dogs, pizza, candy, chips, drinks, etc. They accept cash or Venmo. The Kona Ice Truck will also be there.
- What events will my swimmer be competing in? – Line-ups will be published on Wednesday. Stay tuned & keep checking your SwimTopia app. We will also email them out once things are confirmed. There will be diving blocks at this pool so warn your little ones that we'll be experiencing something new! Coaches will have them practice during warmups to get comfortable diving from the blocks.
- What should I bring to the meet? - Lots of water, sunscreen, a hat & rain gear - we skirted the storms last week and hope to do so again but we will swim in the rain! You should also bring towels, snacks, a sharpie marker, bug repellant, and money for the concessions. We also suggest bringing items to keep your child entertained while waiting for their events. Items such as card games, books, and small activities are highly recommended.
- When does the meet start? – The first event is at 6:00 PM.
- How long will the meet last? – Probably around 4+ hours. Yes, you read that right. We've been spoiled with short meets so far this season, get ready for a later night.
- Are we having practice on the morning of the swim meet? – Yes, we will have the morning practice on Thursday morning at our normal time. It will be lighter than normal.
Go Piranhas!
