Top 10 Things to Know for PCST Swim Meets!
May 29th
- Be behind the block three events before your race! This allows you to be ready for your race and cheer on your teammates!
- No playing on the playground or in the sandpit. It’s fun for a normal day at the park, but no one likes sand in the pool.
- Bring a million Sharpies for meet tattoos! Writing on your kids with a Sharpie on meet day is normal.
- Pack twice as many snacks as you think you’ll need; swimmers are always hungry!
- It’s important to cheer on your teammates and always have a positive attitude. Swimming creates lifelong friendships that you’ll appreciate for years to come.
- The team cheer is the best time to be loud and show your Piranha spirit! We can intimidate the other team with our Parkwood pride.
- As much as we love goofing off in the diving well, it’s off limits during meets. Only the main pool should be used for swimming.
- Write your events, heats, and lanes on your arm! That way if you ever forget where you need to be you’ll always have a guide with you.
- Our team has a fun tradition of going to Waffle House after the meets if we win! It’s important to work hard so that we can celebrate together!
- If you’re a new parent or a new swimmer ask lots of questions. Swim is unique in the sense that it’s a team sport and an individual sport and we want everyone to have the best experience!
